Okay, so, I think it is time to come clean.... I was so excited about my "cool" new blog, that I sent an email to virtually everyone in my email contact list, hoping and praying someone would have pity on me and visit my blog. So, thanks faithful friends (and new friends), you have encouraged me to post yet again! (Which was traumatic in itself, as I had to call Amber to figure out how to post again!)
I have thought throughout the day about potential posting material, and alas I am left with the prompting to share a funny with ya'll (there is your dose of Texas flavor for all of you misplaced from the Promise Land)... Today, as I was teaching my second grade class their new memory verse, I had a little boy come up to me and tell me a girl at his table was doing something gross, and she would not stop. I look up to see this little darling, licking the pages of her Bible. Yes, I did say licking. She was holding the edges together and licking the end opposite of the binding. Why? Good question. Because the idea popped into her head and she did it. Quite simple. Side note: She had done this so many times the edges of her Bible were curling from the moisture...GROSS!!!!)
This event lead me to two thoughts I will share (countless others that will be withheld)...
1) My Bible class is so intensely boring that this poor child was driven to licking the pages of her Bible to keep her sanity :)
2) A bit more reflective...When we truly hunger for the Word of God, what does that look like? Does it appear to others as "over the top", "extreme", or even "gross"? Because let's face it, we all know those people who have hour long quiet times, four times a day, slight exaggeration perhaps... And honestly some of the above descriptions flutter through my mind when I come across these individuals.
When I think of the people in my own life, who I would describe as those who hunger for the Word of God, the thing that is most apparent about their lives is the fruit that comes as a result of this hunger. The hunger does not become obvious to others, or at least me, until I investigate the source of the abundance of fruit.
May the fruit born forth from our hunger spur others to a deeper hunger for Him...

my dear spacely...I tried to hide your identity by claiming it was one of my (wink, wink) "second grade students".... he he...Thanks for visiting!
Way to go on starting a blog! I have to agree with what Daniel was saying yesterday: When I started my blog I was so excited to write! Especially when I got my first non-acquantance internet-visitor comment. Actually, one of these visitors was a veteran blogger who is in the habit of training new bloggers. He became a regular reader and suggested things I could add and how to do them like an "Email me" link, enabling comments before blogger had comments, and getting a site counter. I was always excited to write because I felt like a mini-celebrity, with comments from passers-by! (in a 15-minute of fame, reality Tv show way)
So, I was very excited about writing for a long time, but I began to have less time to write. So when the posts slowed, the comments slowed, and my momentum was gone. It's still fun to write, but I have to get over a much bigger question of what to say, since the few-and-far-between posts should in theory be of better quality than the ones when posts were abundant. That is my rise and fall in the blogging world.
I see that you have lots of comments already- that's awesome! I hope you have lots of fun posting. Keep it up!
Thanks Lisa! I think I have already lost some of my steam and excitement...but I do really enjoy this means of communicating!
I would love to know how to add some of those things to my blog...but you should know just how technologically challenged I really am...
Thanks for visiting, and adding to my mini-celebrity feeling for the day!
