I have been wanting to post on my blog all week, but to be very honest this has been quite a hard week for me.
And right now my blog is doing something funny, giving me fits on formatting, so who knows if you will even be able to read this....
Anyway, there is this great new song by Jeremy Camp that you can find on the songs inspired by Narnia CD. It is called Open Up Your Eyes. The words of the song have really been penetrating my heart his week, and I am still seeking out to what end or reason God has laid them on my heart....I will attempt to include them below...
Throw yourself aside
and hear the gentle cry
Of the voice of peace that gave up all to fill the void inside
Give away the fight,
release your foolish pride
the very bond is broken down you need to leave behind
the time has come to realize
And see the plan you've been designed for
So face the fear of all unknown
And see the heart inside
So open up your eyes
So open up your eyes
The thing that has struck me the most about this song is in the verse I included. This idea that our choice to give away our rights (surrender) and release our pride proceed our ability or enabling to see the plan we were designed for. It proceeds our ability to face our fears and see the heart of the One we seek, the One who answers and holds the answers.
So when I don't understand something or I struggle to see how this is part of God's plan...perhaps I am holding desperately to pride, or my rights, or my fear.
He is waiting for me to let go.
He is waiting for me.
He is longing for my surrender.

Thank you for pointing me toward that song!! Now I am forced to buy it off iTunes -- and possibly others on that Narnia record! :)
If you do want some hints as to others to buy off of iTunes...my personal favorites (which may have no barring on your decisions, I realize) include; TobyMac, David Crowder Band ("turkish Delight"), and the Jars of Clay song. Sorry I don't remember the titles of the others....
Bethany Dillion has a song entitled Hero that has some great lyrics, but a different sound....
Sorry to force you into enlarging the iTunes industry!!!!! Hope you enjoy the song as much as I have....
The most powerful experiences with God I've ever encountered is when I gave up. When I actually said (and believed) that there is absolutley nothing I can do to alter the situation.
When it's all Him, He shows up :)
I guess the thing that sticks out to me the most is the idea that surrender proceeds our understanding and revelation, perhaps even clarity of our calling.
Tmproff, I totally agree. I guess I just wonder why, when I know this is true, is it still a struggle for me to fully surrender sometimes?
I agree with many points. But in some areas, I feel we need to be more aggressive. Just my opinion. Love ya. wedding dresses sleeves Christian Louboutin Sandal Column Wedding Dresses
