(okay, Lisa, this is just so you will have something new to read at work.....)
Just curious as to anyone else's thoughts about our tumultous upcoming governor race.....I personally think it is perhaps a scene that is going to start unfolding much more regularly on a national level.....more and more independents and fewer and fewer qualities republicans or democrats.....
Just curious....
Any Kinky fans out there?

I am not a fan of Kinky, but I have to give him credit for how visible he has been. My brother has a band and travels all over the place with friends. He has seen Kinky several times at venues, just being visible and hanging out, not handing out buttons or anything. In fact, I was with him during of these spottings. We went to the Christmas Lights display at Moody gardens, and a tall cowboy in a black hat was passing out the bags of free popcorn very happily to anyone he could reach. I didn't know who he was (the cowboy thing fit right in with the festival) but my brother recognized him right away.
I don't know anything about the other candidates, except a woman claiming to be a tough grandma was on TV yesterday.
I think you're right that this will start happening more and more around the country, but only if an independent actually manages to garner a decent amount of the vote in an election. And Texas would be a pretty good proving ground for that.
It might be a good development for politics in this country. People might start having to really understand what a candidate stands for. On the other hand, people might not want to devote enough brain power to thinking about it, in which case our political system is screwed.
As far as Kinky goes, I honestly don't have a problem with his methods or his ideology (not that I agree with them). I have a problem with the fact that he seems to treat the race as a big joke and that he appears to have spent a portion of his life under the influence of various addictive substances.
I already commented but I'm still bored at heart, so I'm back! Daniel's wallet was stolen out of his car this morning. It was crazy calling the police and banks and work and everything. It's all taken care of now, except waiting for new checks, cards, and his license.
We should have a girls coffee night. I know it's difficult with all of the kiddos and Upwards going on and various other things we're each doing. We're a busy bunch right now.
I'm so restless. At my desk I spin this very dangerous metal poker for skewering notes around on my desk, and inevitably I drop it once an hour. It makes a bunch of noise clattering on the floor, my boss asks from around the corner if I'm OK, and I get embarassed and set the thing further away from myself again in hopes deterring the spinning of it.
No playing! This is work time!
