I realized today that as much as I like to think I am a patient person, it is just not always that way....
I had a flight that landed early (over 20 minutes early) but once we pulled up to the gate, the door didn't open for a good 6 1/2 minutes. I was restless. Not openly complaining like others around me, but thinking to myself, what good is the landing early if you can't open the freaking door!
Then, because it took us so long to get off the plane, my luggage arrived to baggage claim before me (how often does that happen at Intercontinental?!?!??!). You think that would increase my patience, right?
And I walked out to the parking shuttle exit just as my park n fly shuttle pulled up.
Two traveling blessings.
Get to my car, and my front tire is pretty low. The nicest park n fly employee ever fills my tire for me (yes, I know it sounds unrealistic!) and as I am driving home my Daddy counsels me to stop at a tire place and let them look at my tire.
Sure, why not? I really have extra time since my plane landed early, right?
I stand in the lobby of the tire place for at least 6 minutes and 45 seconds.........and the line never moved.
So, I left.
Where oh where has all my patience gone?
But this weekend, I was reminded of the fruit of patience. A good friend of mine got married on Friday, and she just turned 34. This is her first marriage. It was a beautiful reminder to me that sometimes, we get to see the fruit of our patience.........and it can be breathtakingly beautiful!
I will post pictures soon....she was stunning!
Lord, give me patience.....even when I think I already have it!
