Jail and first grade...

So, today was a rough day. One of those days were you start to question your effectiveness as a teacher....

But I am not quite ready to discuss all of that information, so I will leave you with a funny story from first grade.

We were learning the story of the unmerciful servant, who was forgiven a debt of millions but would not forgive a debt of dollars. And at the end of the story he is thrown in to jail to be tortured every day for the rest of his life...

After I had told the entire story, in a riveting manner of course, and was heading out to my next class, this one little boy says to me, "Miss Liddell, where his clothes orange or black and white?"

For the life of me, I could not figure out what this little boy was asking....so, I asked whose clothes he was talking about.

"The guy who had to live in jail. Where his clothes orange or black and white?"

Speechless.

I finally answered him that I had no clue what color his clothes were.

Isn't it hilarious what kids get into their heads!

How cute! You know he probably has a cartoon playing in his head of the unmerciful servant in black and white, shackled to a metal ball breaking rocks beside the railroad.
