Icecream Monster...

I have had these photos for almost a month.
I laugh every time I remember this evening. Part of our month long birthday celebrations included fabulous desserts each week. This particular evening we happened to be having Amber's homemade (and quite simply divine) brownies topped with Blue Bell Chocolate Covered Cherry icecream.

To this date I had never seen Jadyn so intent on the task at hand; eating every drop of her dessert. She was drinking her icecream at one point, and had it all down her shirt and even on the floor. It was quite amazing!

Watch this series of events....

Jadyn realizes we are trying to take her picture (what good parent would not try to capture this on film???) and adamantly fits against it. No one is going to distract her from her icecream business....least of all Mommy.
But, do I guard against Mommy or eat my dessert? It is just sooo good.....

She is unaware that she has been caught on film. But, as you can see, very concerned with the one drop of icecream that has landed on the table. Thou shall not waste.....
Wait, she still has that camera in her hands......ugh. I said no pictures!!!!

Oh good, they are going to leave me alone. Dessert, you are all mine!

What?!?!? Still with the camera....who in the world is possibly going to want to see this picture? What is all this harassment about?

Oh, you are going to send it to grandma?

Well, only if you send it to grandma.....

That has got to be one of my most favorite smiles ever!

You are beautiful my precious Jadyn, just beautiful!

It takes a kindred spirit to narrate what's going on in that child's head... :)

she's really cute... i miss the days when it was completely kosher to smear ice cream all over myself.

i see where your priorities lie:
1. God
2. kids
3. baseball

The first two are worthy of attention...

Oh Lindsay, wouldn't it be wonderful if we still did eat icecream that way?!?!? What a wonderfully freeing thought!

If only I could convert you on the third priority.....maybe one day!

Thanks for your comment...

:-) i'm with you on the ice cream thing. as to the third priority- i was pretty into little league. i was the only girl on my baseball teams for a long time. but then i just realized how ultimately superior soccer and tennis are.
