Last night, I said goodbye to Alaina and Jadyn for about a week and a half. They are going to spend some time with their wonderful, and fun, family in Omaha.
So, I gave Alaina a mission. Armed with her digital camera (yes, she IS four), so is going to take a picture of 1) grandma and grandpa 2) Raj's new friend. (Oh, and to make sure and fill Uncle Ravi in on the greatest baseball player of all time....he he!)
She, in turn, gave me a mission for my trip. I am to take a picture of three things; 1) my brother 2) his girlfriend Vanessa and 3) the baseball game we go to.
Jadyn, when saying goodbye to me, said, "See you tommorrow."
I can only imagine how hard it is to say goodbye to these precious girls after only a week. I can only imagine how hard it is to know that someone - like me - gets to have the everyday kind of memories during these precious years of their lives.
All I can do is say thank you. Thank you God for the time I am blessed with to be a part of their lives. Thank you God for the priviledge of knowing and loving them.
And please, please help me pour love into their lives...the kind of Love that changes lives for all eternity.
I love these girls more than I thought possible....

I find it very easy to complain...but God has provided so abundantly for us. Sometimes I lose the eternal perspective.
Oh, and for those keeping score, Alaina has now lost two of her baby teeth. Yeah, she's four. Whatever, that's all I have to say.

Ashlee, I was so confused by this post. So confused. Much confusion at coffee night. It sounds on the blog as though the girls left for Omaha when you said bye to them earlier this week. On coffee night my discussion with Amber went something like
"So are the girls in Omaha?"
-No...
"Ashlee isn't here tonight..."
-Right.
"Wait, then is Ashlee in Omaha?"
-No.
"Is she going to be in Omaha??"
-No...
"Where are the girls?"
-At home.
".....What was Ashlee talking about on her blog??"
-I don't know I haven't read it yet...?
(And Amber's thinking I'm crazy at this point.)
Oh Lisa....I had to say goodbye to them because I knew I wouldn't see them again before I left, and when I return they will still be gone to Omaha. Are you still confused? :)

Ashlee, yes I got it all straightened out. The girls are here. You are here. This weekend both you and the girls will be gone, but separate. The girls will be in Omaha.
...It's like filling out one of those logic puzzles with a grid. "Can you match each person with their destination and departure time? Happy puzzling!!"
