Joe died, leaving a will that provided $30,000 for an elaborate funeral.
As the last of the visitors departed the affair, his widow, Helen, turned toher oldest friend and said, "Well, I'm sure Joe would be pleased."
"I'm sure you're right," replied Jody, who then lowered her voice and leaned in close, "How much did this really cost?"
"All of it," said Helen. "Thirty thousand."
"No!" Jody exclaimed. "I mean, it was very nice, but $30,000?"
Helen replied, "The funeral was $6,500. I donated $500 to the church. The wake, food and drinks were another $500. The rest went for the Memorial Stone."
Jody computed quickly. "$22,500 for a Memorial Stone? My God, how big is it?"
"Two and a half carats."

Ha! That is great! I definitely needed a laugh to get me through today! Summers are so crazy around here, as I am sure you know!
My craziness starts next week, so I am a bit overwhelmed trying to make sure I am organized this week! Glad you enjoyed a laugh, and hope your day was too insane!
Ashlee, I just encountered your new comment button gizmo. Amber is right-- with a little time on your hands, you get into all kinds of things! Scrapblogs, imbedded videos, custom backgrounds, now this! I do think the comment gizmo is pretty cool.
I don't know how I feel about the new comment gizmo....i can't quite figure out how it all works...hmmm. Glad you like it, maybe I will keep it!!!
