Day Camp I in review.....

Okay, so this post might not turning out with the best format, but you will still get the idea.
First of all, notice the CUTE orange t-shirts with the AMAZING logo my fabulous friend Terri designed for our ministry. The kids absolutely loved their shirts. And they looked so cute!

What are these crazy boys doing on the stage? Glad you asked! Everyday we started by using the Hillsong Supernatural DVD that teaches the kids the motions to some awesome praise songs, then they get to try it out. Now, I have been in Children's Ministry in different forms for awhile, and getting boys to "dance" to songs is pretty near impossible. SO, big props to the Hillsongs team for creating such an awesome resource. If you work with kids, or have kids, invest in this!

You can also see from the next picture how we had the screen really, REALLY large in the next shot. The kids loved this part of the day....

The shot of everyone at tables is where we ate lunch, snacks, and had one of our rotations. It is also known as our lobby on any other day of the week. We had so much planned for Day Camp, and so many kids sign-up, that we had to use our lobby as a room. Thanks to the foresight of an amazing visionary pastor, this space was created to double as a make-shift room.

And, maybe one of my favorite stories from Day Camp this summer is this precious little girl. Her mom called me and asked if we would "let" her come to Day Camp. I said that I couldn't think of any reason why, and then she reveals to me that her daughter has Downs. Can you imagine believing you would have to call and ask if a CHURCH would allow your daughter with special needs to be a part of their activities? It broke my heart. Obviously, we were thrilled to welcome her, and the Lord blessed my staff of volunteers with two volunteers who actually have great knowledge and experience in working with children with special needs. This picture is of her "favorite" volunteer. You can tell why, can't you?

So, here is a little taste of our week. I am sure I will add some more at a later date, but only if you all post lots of fabulous comments!!!
