Things about my church that might scare you...

On Wednesday I received a text from my boss that read,

"5' alligator in the lake...Ronnie shot it"

I do not have the creative capacity to make this kind of stuff up...I promise you! And you might remember back to this story that happened during the fall, which would refresh your memory to the lake on our property.

Well, Ronnie happens to be on our leadership team, and the alligator couldn't be found after it was shot.

Call me a skeptic, but when you are talking A.L.L.I.G.A.T.O.R.S., I want to KNOW whether or not the thing is really dead, as in find the carcass to prove it to me.

I got my wish today.

Usually I do not work at the church on Fridays, but today was an exception. I was walking a delivery to our contractor in our new building and saw a group of guys scurrying around the lake.

Using mainly their noses, they found the dead gator, and threw it in the back of their truck for some photo opportunities.....and tried desperately to get me to TOUCH the dead alligator. (Not on this side of heaven boys, not on this side of heaven....)

Anyone want to wager a guess as to the A.L.L.I.G.A.T.O.R.'S actual length?

I will just say that it was NOT 5' as originally reported to me.

Now I am left to figure out if not knowing if the gator was dead for sure was a better or worse fate than seeing the thing up close and personal!!!!

Creekside, it's one scary place.

That is the funniest thing I've heard all day, maybe all week! It's even funnier that I can picture it!

So how long was this alligator?

don't let the children near the lake...or they might disappear...

although they (as in the ALLIGATOR) may end up in your building as well...i read an article the other day about some alligator that planted itself on someone's front porch and he apparently was REALLY large and very content to stay put.

so, i'm just sayin'... ; )

heidi...thanks for the text the other night!! i meant to text you back but as usual...i got busy and then forgot! i forget A LOT of things these days!! love you girls!!!!
