What did you think about...

Here we go, I wanted to do another movie post (hopefully you have seen this one Azina!) and just see what other people's reactions were/are to this movie.

I saw Diary of A Mad Black Women when it came out in the theatres, and recently got it from Netflix. This is the kind of movie I never would have gone to see if someone else hadn't asked me to go with them.

I have to admit, this is one of the most thought-provoking, honest, and hilarious movies I have seen in a long time. But, there are some pretty controversial scenes as well.

Here are a few of my favorite quotes...

"How do you know that you love me? I know I love you because I pray for you more than I pray for myself..."

"Sometimes we hold on to the things that God Himself is trying to tear apart."

From the mouth of the director's mouth himself, he said he hopes that the theme that people see is that the power of God runs throughout the movie. The underlying and in your face message is forgiveness, which only comes through the power of God. I personally believe that this is one of the things that the movie portrays really well is that true forgiveness comes only through the power of God and it ushers in life change.

And while we are on the subject of movies, EVERYONE should go and see End of the Spear this weekend. Not because I know it will be phenomenal or anything, but because I want to see movies like this get great feedback from audiences so they will keep making them! Thank you Hobby Lobby for furthering the Kingdom through film projects like this!
