Okay, not entirely to Lisa, but apparently it is unacceptable to go a week without blogging unless I am gone on a cruise!
The truth is, I have had so many things I wanted to blog about I just haven't been able to choose what to write about.
A few housekeeping items first.... The Astros have had a really rough month, but my choice for Rookie of the year had a phenomenal game on Sunday. Taylor pitched a complete shut out against a very good offensive team (Rangers). Go Taylor!
Keeping with baseball, Joe: I have read several interviews and quotes from Springer and his teammates, all of which concur that those who know Russ's pitching style know that he wasn't intentionally trying to hit Bonds. He didn't do it on purpose. And why oh why is major league baseball protecting the guys who have done so much to tarnish its history and legacy?
Okay, on to the real reason for this post....
At lunch the other day a heartbreaking thought came to my mind; have entire generations forgotten to dream about how God could change the world?
Do you dream about the vast greatness of God? Do you ever get lost in the overwhelming thought that God might use you to radically change the world? your community? your family? your local church?
Or have you stopped dreaming as well?

My very own post!! How come there was so much about sports in it? I liked the last part about having big dreams with God. I have had very clear lessons recently about how real God is, and how He hears us when we pray. I've been, and continue to be, amazed. My stance on the big dreams-- I know God has big all-encompassing plans, and I know that small actions I can do in obedience to Him will play into the big plan in ways I'll never know.
hmm... sorry to intrude... but those questions really got to me. you're right. i get to dang independent. i forget it's God up there calling the shots... and that he has plans for me i may not even dream of.
thanks for reminding me.
(and thank you so much for the b-day wish... it made me cry)
Lisa, sorry for the sports talk in "your" post, but it is because I haven't blogged in so long!
Lindsay, I meant every word of it, and am continually praying for you. And I know that God's dreams for you are beyond your wildest expectations....
