On the newest Passion CD, there is a song that struck me deeply this evening....
It starts off with the old hymn, "Jesus paid it all, all to Him I owe, sin had left its crimson and He washed me white as snow.....(they sing a couple verses)" and then break into this most powerful chorus:
Oh praise the One who paid my debt
who raised this life up from the dead
Oh praise the One who paid my debt
who raised this life up from the dead
Oh praise the One who paid my debt
who raised this life up from the dead
Louder, more impassioned, more forceful with each time it was repeated....they sang it so many times I lost count.....
And tonight, it hit me hard. That is what it is all about. Nothing more, nothing less.
Wrapped in those two lines is the meaning of life.
Wrapped in those two lines is the reason I get up in the morning, the reason I am in ministry, and the only real reason I have for joy in my life.
He paid MY debt. He gave me life, salvation, freedom and hope. Oh praise Him!
All the rest, its just details.
It pales in comparison to the power and Truth of this chorus.
Oh praise the One who paid my debt
who raised my life up from the dead....
Thank you Jesus, sweet Jesus.

That is my absolute favorite hymn to play on the piano.
The beauty of the words: the hymn, the chorus and your own, are a testimony to our Savior's beautiful music that He plays for you. You are a blessing.
i don't listen to a lot of Christian music, but i love the power it gives me.
