Okay, either I am getting a little nostalgic about leaving some of these kids, or I just happen to teach the most hilarious children ever.
Today, in two separate classes (which would have had no way of telling each other) I had the most hilarious thing happen.
We were acting out the story of Jonah, and God (in a very authoritative voice, with 100 percent certainty) commanded Jonah to go to "Neverah! Oh, I mean Neverland."
And off Jonah went.
But the crazy thing was, it happened again! In the next class I went to, God commanded Jonah to go to "Neverland!"
I just smiled to myself both times. They got the point; Jonah was NEVER going wherever it was that God told him.
So, I am applying to teach a course at the convention our school goes to every year. This past year I spoke for about ten minutes in one class, but this time I am applying to teach my own session. "How to make God's Word come alive!" will be the title, and I think stories like this remind me just how much children have the capacity to open their hearts to His word in ways that sometimes it takes adults years of studying to grasp. It is the essence of the child-like faith described in the New Testament. That is what I hope to share with others seeking to make His word come alive in their students hearts and lives....
Oh Jesus, capture their hearts.
