We arrived back from our vacation safe and sound.
And, speaking only for myself here, a wonderful time was had!
I really like how there was stuff for everyone to do, and we did most of it together but those with kids could put them to sleep and those without sometimes went out at night, etc. There was a lot of flexibility, and it seemed to allow most people to get what they needed from the trip.
A couple of my favorite highlights from the trip:
- Acting like Rachel Ray on $40 a day, by stopping by the Visitor's Center to get cool maps (that we never used!) and find out where the best beach and eateries were located. Thanks, Amber....you were right!
- Trying Padre Pizzeria (props to Susan for these places) and Snoopy's. Both were local dive's and were huge hits in my book. Man, that seafood from Snoopy's was so fresh.
- Sitting on the beach, under my umbrella. For real, that was my permanent location.....it was delightful.
- Watching some awesome parents in action this weekend (Tami, Josh, Joe, and Amber), and realizing more how much effort it takes to be a great, Godly parent. Because let's face it, this was no "vacation" for them.
- Hearing all about Julian, Lisa's ripped surfing instructor! :) Oh, I can't wait for the pictures.....
Believe it or not, this was BEFORE we arrived at the beach....

Yes, vacation was awesome! That pic of Jadyn is great!
I can't wait for pics of Julian either :) I'm about ready to convert to a digital camera.
Hellooooooo...where in the world did you go?? The beach? Where? I'm headed there soon with very dear friends of mine too! Give me the scoop my friend!
Jordo.... we went to Corpus Christi, which is about 3 hours south of Houston. I didn't manage many pictures of the beach, but your water in FL will be MUCH bluer than it is in Corpus. We just got away for a weekend, but it was still great.... Love you friend...
