Why I love serving at Creekside...

If you are a regular reader of this little ol blog, then you know last week I went on a staff retreat with our church staff. You also know that I love to watch baseball. Well, when I arrived at the Frisco Embassy Suites, I found out that Karen (our senior pastor's wife) had tried to get us all on the same floor, but had only succeed getting the worship pastor and I together. So, when I checked in, the whole Garcia clan helped me up to my room. As we were coasting up the elevator, Greg said he thought I would have a view of the baseball field.
So, dear blog reading friends, I wanted to document for you "the view" from my luxurious hotel suite.

That's right folks....I had a balcony! A ninth floor balcony! When we walked into my room, I innocently asked, "So, did everyone get a balcony view?" To which Greg responded, "A WHAT?!?!? HOW DID YOU GET A BALCONY???"

Yes, this was the breathtaking view from my balcony.
I sat and read on this balcony for a handful of refreshing hours.
We watched an incredible display of fireworks - at eye level- from this balcony.
And most importantly, everyone had a balcony except for Greg!

Isn't it amazing to serve for a body of believers that gives this gift to us every year? I love my church family!

What an awesome weekend! I want to see fireworks at eye level...

The view of this park makes up for missing the game in Corpus, right?

NO....I still want to go to that ball park too! We did actually take in a game on Thursday night at the ball park, I just forgot to take my camera....oops.

The only thing about fireworks at eye level is they are that much LOUDER as well....a bit too much like gun fire sometimes.... :)

That is an awesome view! Which ballpark is that? I am glad you enjoyed your time away as a staff...I know times like that are much needed and appreciated!

Sarah, it is actually a AA ball park, home of the Frisco Rough Riders (Texas Rangers AA team), but it is still a lovely stadium. I don't know if it is like this everywhere, but we have three very nice minor league parks in Texas, and they are so cheap to watch games in. Loads of baseball fun!
