So, I woke up this morning with a plan. I was going to finish the five things on my list that had to be done today by noon, and read and rest for the remaining hours of the day. My week has been quite hectic (more on that to come) and I knew I would need it for tomorrow....
So, at eight o'clock my phone rang and the whole plan changed.
By two o'clock I still had five things left on my to do list.
Then, around four I got a phone call from an old friend. Those who have known me since MCC might remember the fabulous Ryan Sanner. Well, this old friend of mine called me from the Houston Airport and told me he flew in (from Riverside, CA) to buy a car. He asked me what I was doing later on, and I said having dinner with you!
So, after at least four years of not talking to each other or staying up dated on what was going on in each other's lives, we had the most wonderful evening. Short, but so comfortable, so edifying, and so full of laughter.
It is excited to be reminded that God is moving and teaching His servants all over the world, and all over our nation.
It is so humbling when we are reminded that His blood, His mercy, and His grace unite all believers.
So, Ryan Sanner my friend, thanks for dinner! Next time you are in our great state, you will have to stay longer.

Whoa...Ryan Sanner...that's a blast from the past! that's cool that he called you...what's he up to?
-lil james :-)
Lil James...thanks for stopping by the blog! I had no idea you were a stealth reader!
Ryan works for KB homes, and is a customer service manager. How perfect is that for him? Using his charm to calm people down and talk them into things all day long. He said he really loves it, and I could see how perfect it is for him.
What is crazy is he is the same old Ryan. But yet, at the same time so willing to share his struggles/lessons learned from the past four years. He's got a girl he loves, and is trying to figure out what is next for them.
It was a wonderful surprise! It has been way too long since I have seen YOU! We need to have another reunion.....
How fun that you saw Ryan...good to hear he's doing well. Funny about your comment on my blog...I've been thinking all day that she has looked so old in her outfit...We are starting upward basketball at our church this year...reading blogs totally hits home!
