Okay folks...thanks for sticking around and waiting for the last round of the contest!
Let's do something fun...I am feeling the need!
I was originally going to have you post about five people who have impacted your life, but that is far too serious for me today.
So, five people (who you have never met in real life!) who you would want to take on vacation. You can know these people through the world of internet and such, but I don't want to know you would take your family on vacation...
Who intrigues you, fascinates you, or simply seems like they would be lots of fun on vacation?
My list to come later, but you better believe it will include some cute, single guys!!!!! :)

1. Jack Hanna...cuz then I'd get to play with a whole bunch of animals. That would be soooo cool. Which leads me to my number 2 person.
2. Lisa...yes, you from Houston whom I've never met. Cuz, if I had Jack Hanna on a trip with me, you would LOVE it, too cuz I can tell from your blog that you seriously heart all animals and that is just cool. (And Sahara and Sphinx could come along too and play with Casey!)
3. Reba McIntire. I love her Reba show and I'm bummed they have no new episodes. She is just so dang funny! Plus, I saw her in concert with Kelly Clarkson (AWESOME concert and I'm not a big concert chick) and she just seems to fun and down to earth.
4. Hoops and Yo Yo. So, I know they aren't like "real" people but dang, they crack me up! I love their e-cards! Seriously, check them out. Fun. E. They'd keep me in stitches on vacation!
5. Yanni. Now, I know he is some new age quack but he's has some fantastic music. All soothy and stuff. So, I'd want to take him along to play music for me so I can lull myself to sleep after laughing so hard with Reba, Hoops & YoYo and playing with animals all day with Jack and Lisa.
It could happen.
oh terri....cracking me up. i like your list.
here's my vacation list...
1. Angie Smith (www.audreycaroline.blogspot.com). Her story is incredibly inspiring and I would love to sit and talk with her over coffee.
2. MckMama (www.mycnarmingkids.net). Her story is equally captivating and I would just love to spend time with these courageous women of faith who are loving God through the most difficult circumstances.
3. Kate Gosselin (tv show-John & Kate plus 8). She cracks me up and I think that we have very similar personalities. We could definitely have some laughs...and she needs a break from all those kids!
4. Sarah Palin (you know, the hot chick from the cold state). Just to chat. Plus, she probably needs a little vacation right about now.
5. Oprah. I'm sure she'd come with a list of questions for everyone and hey maybe she'd bring us some of her favorite things!
so, when's the trip?
My, my, this is going to be a close race.... great answers so far!
Aww, I made a list! That's so sweet Terri, and I was so thinking of you for my list too! I'd totally love to take a vacation with all the animals in tow. We can do it as soon as you move to Houston! ;) hehee...
Problem is, I can't think of five people. I'm VERY picky about vacations, cuz it seems like I always have different tastes than people I may travel with. As far as people I think are interesting and would like to talk to who I *don't* know... I recently contacted a blogger who was in the Peace Corps in Bangladesh, and he was gracious enough to email me back with some info about international orgs- I'd love to have time to talk with him and look at pictures from his time there. The other three people on the list would be the same thing- bloggers in the Peace Corps! I get the impression it's usually their first international humanitarian experience, and I'd love to talk about it with them b/c I'm really interested in working in that type of service.
Oooh, I was going to say Kate Gosselin too! But since Heidi'll be thoughtfully taking her, here's my updated list:
1.) Josh Groban. This would be in keeping with tradition, since I always double and triple check that I have each of his CDs before heading on a roadtrip. Plus, in addition to being aesthetically thrilling, he can sing in Spanish and Italian and French - so travelling with him would be educational.
Who am I kidding? It's Josh Groban!!! I swoon, I tell you!
Thankfully, Jonathan understands where I'm coming from & that he (and not even the swoonable Josh) puts the "J" in Jman.
2.) Kermit the Frog. I know, I know, he's a Muppet, but he's a fave of mine. And, as to the muppeteer who'd inevitably come along, Brian Henson. Like Josh, his vocal skills are amazing (he was Hoggle in the Labyrinth & Peter Pumpkinhead in Return to Oz). Besides which, I'd love to ask their advice (yes, Kermit's too!) in regards to following dreams and chasing rainbows and how to know if you're in the right profession. If this contest transcends time, I would invite Jim and the whole gang!
3.) India.Arie, with extra space set aside for her guitar. Her lyrics are incredibly soulful and I think are a reflection of her overall perspective to Life, Love and all that jazz.
4.) Lemony Snicket & the Baudelaires. I think they could all use a vacation. Besides which, their resourcefulness would be very handy, and I'm curious about where they all ended up and where that dang sugarbowl is. But then again, considering their aptitude for series of unfortunate events, they may not be the best travel buddies...Mhmm, wait, I take it back. I pick Miss Ashlee, because that way I'd finally get to meet her! And, because she too believes in Lysol-wiping-down-the-car before roadtrips, has a bunch of yummy-sounding recipes in reserves, good taste in online shopping, and would be bringing her own reserve of cutie patooties. Safety in numbers, people!
5.) Jai Pausch - the wife of the beloved Randy Pausch, author of "The Last Lecture." I think it would be amazing to spend time with such a stronghearted lady. And, I'd love to have her share in the inevitable good eats, good conversation, and good company!
miss a...where is your list?
In no particular order:
Bill Gates - the guy's work has changed the way that people work, think, and live, and it has changed him too (he's either already or is on track to be the most philanthropic person in history).
Rob Bell - great Bible teacher who often finds himself the center of controversy (mostly on the internet because people have nothing better to do with their time).
Chris Martin - Music is incredibly important to me, and I like what he writes.
George W. Bush - If I could sit with him as equals, I would want to know what kind of man he really is (vs. who everyone seems to think he is).
My last spot is a tie between:
Henri Nouwen - deceased but brilliant Christian writer
Rick Warren - didn't love his book, but the man has vision that is seemingly endless
Erwin McManus - technically I've met him, but would love to actually get to talk
Ricky Gervais - dude's just funny (created The Office)
Donald Miller, Tony Blair, Mike Huckabee, etc.
Or maybe somebody else of whom I haven't yet thought.
That's it, my last one is an open plane ticket (for now) because I'm always looking for new people who fascinate me.
man...all the good ones have been taken...i'll give it a shot though...
1. Richard Winters - He was an officer in WWII and led his men from the jump in Normandy to the capture of Hitler's hideaway "Eagle's Nest". I could listen to him tell stories all day.
2. Richard Branson - you know your vacation would be adventurous if you brought this guy along.
3. Dave Matthews - maybe i could pick up a thing or two on guitar...and we could listen to good music the whole time.
and finally,
4. Barack Obama &
5. John McCain
So that I could ask these guys some questions and not have to filter through all the soundbytes and ad hominem attacks...
wow...that would be an interesting vacation...no matter where you went...
Okay, okay...here is my list.
I don't think there is a particular order, but here it goes..
1) Donald Miller. Now, I know someone already mentioned him, but I would be quite clearly taking him for different reasons...he is cute, smart, funny, and SINGLE. Oh, and I think his work with the fatherless is simply a.m.a.z.i.n.g.
2) Chris Tomlin. His voice alone would be worth taking, but I happen to think his heart would have lots to teach, probably lots about humility and mercy. Oh, and last I heard...cute and single!
3) Luke Scott. (You knew it was coming....) A couple reasons here, first I want to know his take on what was really going on with the astros while he was on the team. Was it purpura or garner that had the thing for jason lane? And I would want to know what God taught him through the trade to Baltimore, and if he and willy t were as good of friends as the media mad them out to be... and yeah, you got it...cute and single.
4) Michael Phelps. Seriously, no one else wants to take him along? Not as much for the cute and single thing as just to see what that much focus looks like in other areas of his life...
5) Now, I had this all planned to use this spot for my friend Susan. But that would be breaking my own rules, since I quite clearly know her, and have even in fact vacationed with her several times. But, it is my contest, so I guess I am going to do it anyway!!!
See, if I am taking these cute single guys on a vacation there should be at least one other fabulously available gal.... and I always want to take Susan when I know I want to have fun. She can make a bad movie FUN, and that my friends, is a special talent!
Oh Ashlee - you're so nice...always thinking of others! Sorry I'm a little behind in reading blogs and I missed this contest. Just think, if you get to take 5 guys and I get to take 5 guys...then that's 10 for the 2 of us. Sounds a little like a TV reality show. Only, it would be so much better than anything we've seen before.
