Thankful

Well, along with over 2 million other households in the Houston area, I still have no electricity at my home.

But today, that doesn't really seem to matter.

It could be because I am currently sitting in air conditioning, and connected to the internet, and able to actually see and read what the heck is going on (and what already happened). Or it could be because I am just immensely thankful for the ways we we spared this weekend.

It was scary. It was, and is, inconvenient. But there was no mistaking the sheer strength, domination, and control my God has over the wind and the waves.

I would ask for prayer about a couple things;
-restoration of power (this effects more things than you think, ability of grocery stores, gas stations, and other things to operate, not to mention my AC!)
-the safety of the search and rescue crews, and well as all the centerpoint electricity employees who are going to be working around the clock until 2.2 million homes are restored with electricity.
-rest for all those who have gone in the areas impacted by Ike. It has been lots of stress, often times dramatic and uncertain, and now there is a lot to sort through to get back to day to day life.

Thanks guys! Look for me to resume the contests, and announce the last winner on Tuesday.
