Just another Sharpie Sunday

It was a picture perfect day.

Beautiful blue sky, gentle (and sometimes not so gentle) breeze, warm sun-but not too warm!-shining, and sharpies in hand.

Oh yes, sharpies in hand!

November marks my four year anniversary of serving at Creekside. In those four years quite a bit has happened in our little church. And yesterday was just another faith marker for us.

A little over two and half years ago we moved into our first building. Since moving into that building, I have had to change our children's ministry format THREE times (due to increased number of children and limitations of space)!

And now we are embarking on another leap of faith. Building a (much needed, but more expensive than we would like) second building.

As we worshipped out on the slab of this second building yesterday, we also wrote on the slab.

Armed with Sharpies, people spread out and wrote down Scriptures God had laid on their hearts, people who they were praying would one day know God, or whatever they felt led to write.

There are no words to describe the beauty of this site. To see families reading God's Word together, and taking turns writing those verses down.

To watch children writing Scripture down on the slab of a building they might one day be standing in as they accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

It was all a little too much for me to take in.

But I know this to be true; there are times in our lives where God allows us to be a part of something so much bigger than we could ever imagine or comprehend.

And the knowledge of that is simply mind boggling.

I have video. I was trying to video part of the service, as well as the slab writing portion of the service, but didn't get all that much footage. I am hoping to turn it into a two minute video and picture segment....it will be my first attempt at video editing...I will share (in three months...) when it is complete.

I am still soaking it all in.
