I can remember being so jazzed about Christmas Eve as a child. But my excitement was coming only from the realization that the very next day would be CHRISTMAS!, not particularly anything about Christmas Eve itself.
That has gradually changed, and in all honesty, I think I am just as excited about Christmas Eve as I am about Christmas this year. My brother is flying in on Christmas Eve, which alone makes it a special day. Christmas Eve has usually included a candlelight service, which is such a special tradition to partake with family members, but also to add to the real preparation my soul longs for in anticipation for Christmas Day.
We don't have any special Christmas eve PJ or open a present on Christmas Eve traditions, but I think it is near to my heart because it is the beginning of such a special time for me both spiritually and emotionally.
So, what are your plans for this lovely Christmas Eve?

Tonight was the most special - to see the excitement on the face of my dad to give my mom her present. Who could have known such beauty and simplicity can be found in a hospital room?
