Well, it is Saturday and I am finding myself at a loss for what to do. Believe it or not, this is my first Saturday of 2009 where work obligations haven't determined my day's events.
What's a girl to do? Well, I have a shoe shopping trip planned with Amber and I am attending a birthday party (for an adult...another rarity in my life!) this afternoon.
But first I wanted to post this picture (sorry it is not straight....it's Saturday, what can I say?). In February we had a Panini night one Friday.
It was so much fun! We had build your own dinner panini and then Amber had found a lovely dessert panini recipe. We were all in agreement that the dessert panini's were a repeatable recipe, perhaps even a 'regular'!
You can see all the ingredients for this fabulous recipe in the picture.
Fresh strawberries, sliced
Pound cake, we used frozen which made it easy to slice thin
Nutella
To assemble you want to slice the pound cake thin, spread nutella generously on one piece of pound cake, and top with sliced strawberries. Then you top it with a second piece of pound cake. You are now ready to press your panini.
They were delicious. You should try them. Tonight!
Have a lovely weekend...

My neck hurts from looking at your picture! You could come to Kansas and visit today since you have it "off"! :)
Lil James :)
I forgot to mention...have you checked out www.thebigmamablog.com?? She's a fellow Texan and she's hilarious! You should check her blog out!

Okay, you're even scarier with the knife when you are sideways...
The dessert paninis were awesome!
I had never heard of nutella before panini night...yet another thing I learned from our Bible study adventures.
