Okay, after hundreds of emails begging me to return from my blogging absence, and several dozen phone calls from close, adoring readers, I have decided to return to regularly scheduled blogging.
Now that we got that out of the way...
Does it bother anyone else that the red background doesn't match my new spring-ish template? Well, hope it doesn't distract you too much, because Lord knows I can't figure out how to change it. (Don't bother trying to help me in the comments, we go through this same drama every time I change templates......)
So, here is a question for you; what does it say about a church when a member starts a facebook group for the church, without being asked by church staff, not as a part of a strategy, but simply in an attempt to create community and connect with people he might not have a chance to on Sunday mornings.
Share your thoughts...does your church have a facebook group?
And while we are on it....who out there twitters?

I think the facebook thing shows what we've always known to be true: to most people, the face of the church is whoever they know that goes there - usually not the staff.
We do have a facebook church group. It wasn't started by the staff and it seems to grow every day. I think it's a great way for people to talk about what's going and to get connected in ways they wouldn't otherwise do it.
Raj, I agree completely....I have been wondering what this says about the leap we (the church) are most often asking people to make to find community...
Sarah, that is so cool! I think ours will morph into just that, but right now I am just so thrilled to see people excited about building community with each other.
You're baaaack!!!! :)
