Master of Complicated

For many of my years here on earth, I have operated under the belief that life is complicated, it's hard, and to make sure it doesn't get the best of you one should really be prepared.

This belief was infiltrated through every aspect of my life. Relationships with others, with God, with family...My philosophy of ministry, my priorities in ministry, setting boundaries... everything.

There have been so many things that God has done in my heart and life since He brought me to Creekside, but today I am particularly thankful for how He has been changing my life of complication to one of simplicity.

I have a long way to go, but I am beginning to see a philosophy of simple taking root naturally in certain areas of my life...and that gives me hope. This passage gave me so much encouragement and hope today.....

Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you'll recover your life. I'll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you'll learn to live freely and lightly. Matthew 11:28-30, The Message

Here's to spending time learning the unforced rhythms of grace...
