Day One, a recap...

Well, Amber tried to warn me against opening number one shortly after midnight, but I was too excited to think rationally. Now, I have had all day to think about how I have to wait to open another gift!

I know that Jamie suggested a video post of each day, and honestly that is one of the ideas I had but seemed perhaps a bit lofty since I had never uploaded my own video anything to a blog....and let's be real honest, I was only hoping I could remember my login information for blogger!

So, around 12:04 this morning I took the following footage. Consider yourself warned.... watch at your own risk, this two minutes is not nearly as entertaining as the last two I posted!

I also came up with an idea today that I hope to keep up with every couple of days. I want to share a little bit about how I met the person who wrote the letter that day. Today's letter was from Kyla, who I first met at Creekside. She and her husband were newly married when they started visiting, and I will never forget the Sunday they joined the church and she walked up to me and volunteered to help out in our children's ministry. Growing up a PK, she knew how desperately we needed her and Wyatt on the team! They served on our pre-school team for a while before our friendship took a turn to a much deeper level. We met one day for lunch (or maybe it was dinner) and just shared about the journeys God had led us on, and what He might be asking us to trust Him with.

Since that day God has truly done incredible things in each of our lives, but also in our friendship. We work closely together at church, and I am so thankful for someone who understands my shortcomings and helps walk alongside me to fill in the gap.
