Day Three

Do you want to know the best part of waking up? (name that commercial for a bonus prize...)

Well, I have decided there is no better way to wake up than to realize there is a gift from a friend and a letter from a friend awaiting you!

Today I opened my present with Heidi on the phone (sorry no video evidence from today!) because day three was a gift from her. I opened a box of the cutest notecards and a sparkling rhinestone pen! What fun! I told Heidi how much I have been wanting new stationary but not allowing myself to buy any because I have quite an extensive collection already. What fun!

Then, I opened the envelope for today and it was from Constance Black. Constance and I actually met before we were even students at MCC (I don't know if she remembers this or not) as we were both candidates for the Presidential Scholarship our senior year of high school. We had to come to interview for the scholarship (neither of us received it) and I met Constance that weekend. We then lived in the same suite our freshman year, were RA's our sophomore year, and served together on STUCO our junior and senior year!

Constance always radiated a steadfast confidence to me, and seemed remarkably aware of how God gifted her and what she wanted to do with those talents and gifts. Constance had a far more daring and adventurous streak running through her than I ever did (Kenoyer Hall Swimteam?!?) and I am thankful for all the memories I have shared with her!
