Okay, I feel as though I have gone long enough without posting a story (or more) about my precious Alaina. For those of you reading this who somehow don't know who I am talking about, Alaina is my best friend Amber's oldest daughter, and she will be three in January. And she is quite simply the most amazing two year old ever to live on the planet....
So last night, the couple who taught her Sunday school class on Sunday told me a little story about a conversation that happened between her and another child. I can only imagine how this conversation happened. When kids this age talk to each other, have you ever noticed what they say may or may not have anything to do with what they were asked or previously talking about?
Well, one little boy said, quite confidently I am sure, "I like icecream."
And to that, Alaina proudly boasted, "I like Ashlee."
(I do feel a moral obligation to report that this could be a logical connector with the ice cream statement simply because someone by the name of Ashlee is known by all young children as the one who will give you anything your parents might not. This most definetely includes ice cream.)
The love of a child is an amazing thing.
Simply amazing.

Thank you Laura for the kind words... maybe one day God will answer those prayers. Sometimes I wonder if my heart could handle loving my own children...after what it goes through with kids that aren't even my own...
