If there was one reason that I would give for being a teacher for the rest of my life, it would be Spring Break! I love Spring Break...
Last year for Spring Break I took a trip, through Kansas (said hello to some great friends...), to Kentucky. I got to see several good friends of mine from college who are now serving in ministry in Louisville. It was a great trip.
I can not remember a Spring Break since 1999 were I have not taken some sort of trip. I love spring break road trips.
The thing that makes road trips so great to me is that I am always going to see someone I don't get to see regularly. I take road trips for people, not to see new places (I know this is different than some people, but it really is the best way to road trip!).
This Spring Break will be different.
Don't worry, there will be a road trip.
Just not a road trip for people...not a road trip for a location either...this is a road trip for ministry.
A good friend of mine, Susan, and I are driving to Chicago (South Barrington to be exact) to attend the Willow Creek PromiseLand Children's Ministry conference. This is the mecca of all Children's ministry confrences in the United States. There will be thousands of participants. There will be hours of teaching and insight. There will be long lines for rest rooms and crowds at vendor booths. There will be lows in the 20s and highs in the 30s all week. There will be late night laughing and late night deep conversations about what we learned.
And hopefully some honest to goodness Chicago pizza!
So, I will take every chance I can to check in on my blogging friends, but I don't know how often I will be able to send new ramblings your way.
I promise pictures from the trip when I return, and perhaps souvenirs for those of you I see!
May your week be blessed and full of happy spring break memories!
