Truth

Do you value the truth?

I mean, how significant is the truth to you? Do you let half-truths go innocently by with your children, with your spouse, or with yourself?

Do you esteem and value the cost and sacrifice sometimes incurred when the truth has been spoken?

I am beginning to wonder if we don't willingly tolerate everything but a firm stand for truth.

What is our responisibility as Christians to protect the Truth our faith rests upon?

Today, one of my students cheated on their Bible test. But I think what upset me the most was the total lack of remorse. When I talked through this decision (and its consequences) with her, she saw no connection with cheating and honesty. When I asked her how God was supposed to believe her when she said she loved Him, put had cultivated a lifestyle of dishonesty, she finally seemed to start realizing this was about so much more than the test.

And that is just it....

It's not so much about what we do, or don't do, its about understanding the heart of the issue. It's about understanding the eternal significance of the choices we make, and those we allow our children to make.

I have so much to learn before I am a parent.....oh, so very much.
